Are We Being Censored in Hong Kong? / Female Officer Shooting in MTR

On Monday's Backchat, are we being censored? The blacklisting of Financial Times Asia news editor Victor Mallet, the ban on Chinese writer Ma Jing, and the cancellation of the art exhibition of artist Badiucao at the Free Expression Week, among other things, have some people worried that freedom of expression is on its last legs here. Do you agree? The Government says any concerns that Hong Kong's freedom of the speech and of the press is under threat are totally groundless. Do you agree with that?

After 9:20, the shooting by the female officer at Sham Shui Po MTR station.

    Legco’s Rules of Procedures / Self-service library

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Nicholas Gordon

On Friday's Backchat, changing the rules at Legco. Pro-establishment legislators are taking advantage of the disqualification of pan-dems to seek to change the Rules of Procedure. They say they want to increase the efficiency of Legco, and to avoid wasteful filibustering. The democratic camp says the changes would reduce the legislature's functions and powers, and open the door to controversial laws like Article 23 legislation. Is Legco working properly? Will the changes help or hinder? Is it fair to change the rules now - or is filibustering an abuse that should be stopped whatever it takes? Call us on 23388266 or email backchat@rthk.hk. After 9.20, unmanned libraries.
