Suicide rates are increasing in many countries, including the US, so what's the cause, or causes? Recent studies in Hong Kong show a growing incidence of depression and other mental health problems - why? Does increased awareness lead to fewer or more cases? How do you help people with depression, and how is it different from ordinary sadness, or the blues? What's the connection between depression and suicide? Are men more at risk than women?
