Air Pollution in Hong Kong / CSSA Re-worked

On Monday's Backchat, air pollution. Is it getting better, and if so, how fast? An environmental advocacy group has proposed a new set of 5-year air quality objectives up to 2025, and revised the targets of the concentration limits for key pollutants. Is this enough? Is the Government setting low targets so that development projects won't be impeded? Why are ozone levels on the rise?  What measures could be formulated to 'clean' the air? After 9.20, CSSA re-worked.

Let us know your thoughts. You can leave a message on our Facebook page, Backchat on RTHK Radio 3, email us at backchat@rthk.hk, or give us a call on 23388266.

Criticism and Personal Attack on Judges / Super Typhoon Mangkhut

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Danny Gittings

On Friday's Backchat, are judges fair game for criticism? Strong words from FTU president Stanley Ng about the judges of the Court of Final Appeal have been criticised by CE Carrie Lam, but the right to criticise the judiciary has been supported by Tsang Yok-sing. Some say it's time for judges to take their place in the public sphere like other public servants,  and in other jurisdictions judges are less sacrosanct. So are our strict rules a key part of our rule of law, or a relic? What if comments are personal or scandalous? Call us with your thoughts on 23388266 or email backchat@rthk.hk. After 9.20, super typhoon Mangkhut.
