Christianity in China / Audit Report of RTHK

On Wednesday's Backchat, we're talking about Christianity in mainland China. Chinese authorities have been cracking down on unofficial house churches, and around 100 Christians were reported to have been snatched on Sunday in overnight raids. In addition a Chinese bishop belonging to the Vatican-aligned unofficial church disappeared last month, despite the historic agreement between the Holy See and China on the appointment of Roman Catholic bishops. The deal has been criticised by Cardinal Joseph Zen as destructive of the faithful underground church in China. What is in fact going on with Christianity on mainland China? What are the underground churches, and why are they underground? Will the agreement between the Pope and Beijing bring more benefits or harm?
