But many new jobs will be simultaneously created in the process as well. You’ll probably be wondering how will humans create value in an increasingly automated world. And what skills are needed to navigate this monumental shift in the economy and to future proof your career? Peter Lewis talked to Prof Kam-Fai Wong, from the Faculty of Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong for more.

2 weeks ago, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks organised the third annual Elevator Pitch Competition for the international start up community. 100 entrepreneurs from 24 countries were invited to pitch their idea to investors and industry experts in a 60-second elevator ride at the International Commerce Centre. It was an intensively competitive yet fun-filled event. Ten finalists were then selected to face a panel of judges and potential angel investors with another 3-minute pitch on the 100th floor of the ICC. The eventual champion was Los Angeles based DASH Systems.
Peter Lewis went along to the event and spoke to Joel Ifill, the CEO and founder of DASH Systems.
