The Saturday Skank returns from July 21st.
Andrew Dembina presents this one-hour weekly programme devoted to reggae and ska music. With tunes from Jamaica, naturally, and from all around the world, the series will, once again, include tracks and news of happenings in Asia – including our own Hong Kong.
The first instalment is all about brand new music – the very freshest of current reggae and ska. Episode two chronicles some older classics from these genres, and rocksteady. From then on, it’s a tuneful mix of new and old to get the toes tapping and the body skanking from 9pm to 10pm on Saturday nights.
Catch it live: Every Saturday, from 9pm~10pm
This week (22/09), as well as French dancehall reggae, a throwback to a late Prince Buster 1967 classic, and urban reggae-infused tracks from the UK, listen out for two takes on ska from LA – one from the new album by The Interrupters and the other, one of the first US revival ska singles, from The Untouchables.
