Our first hour starts off with an album that’s come to be regarded as a testament to the spirit of hope and rebellion during the darkest days of the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, the album ‘El pueblo unido jamás será vencido’ (The people united will never be defeated) by Andean Folk group Quilapayún (Chile). In between we hear New Creations from Florida Trap meets Latino Regaeton with this Latino Remix from Post Malone ft Nicky Jam & Ozuna (US-Puerto Rico), 'dissin’ the old man' from Marseilles-based Rapper now singer Alonzo (France), a Maloya ode to Motherhood from Creole singing poet Danyèl Waro (Reunion), love on the Dance Floor from back-to-her-roots Corina (Romania), and after another Nueva Canción Chilena song from our featured album, we end the first hour with a new Batuque-Funana-Coladeira fuzhion from new Diva on the block Elida Almeida (Cape Verde). Stunning sounds to inspire, infuse and juice it up for all, enjoy !
Our second hour continues our sampling classic tracks from our featured album from Quilapayún, of which the title track ‘El pueblo unido jamás será vencido’, which started life as a March for then President Allende’s Popular Unity government, and after General Pinochet’s coup d’etat became the national anthem of the Chilean resistance, and then morphed in different languages and countries, recently ending up as the unofficial anthem of Ukraine’s Orange Revolution in 2004 ! Intersperced between album songs we hear New Hits from symphonically ‘perfect’ duo Ed Sheeran & Andrea Bocelli (UK-Italy), stunning Wolof Salsa from legends Orchestra Baobab (Senegal), in his love moods is Amir (Israel-France), original Likembe Ethno Groove from Lulendo (Angola), and after our last song of our featured album, we end the hour and the show with a Dance Floor Lingala Rumba tribute to a composer friend from venerable Bumba Massa (DemRep Congo). Hot sounds from times past and new times coming for all, enjoy !
