    Extradition and Fugitive Offenders Ordinance / Rats Problem

    On Wednesday's Backchat, the fugitive offenders bill. Secretary for Security John Lee says the government is asking for a second reading of the amended law to resume at full council on June 12, bypassing the function of the bills committee. Meanwhile Carrie Lam says that since foreign governments had raised concerns over the judicial system on the mainland there is every reason for Beijing to wade in.     On ​Tuesday 's Backchat , ​ depression and suicide. A spate of celebrity suicides has led to many questions about why people who seem to have it all choose to end their lives. Suicide rates are increasing in many countries, including the US, so what's the cause, or causes? Recent studies in Hong Kong show a growing incidence of depression and other mental health problems - why? Does increased awareness lead to fewer or more cases? How do you help people with depression, and how is it different from ordinary sadness, or the blues? What's the connection between depression and suicide? Are men more at risk than women?
