Housing Plans on Fanling Golf Course / Remembering Peter Moss

On Thursday's Backchat, the Fanling Golf Course. The Executive Council has accepted the Task Force's recommendations including developing part of the Fanling Course. Its reported this would mean retaking 32 hectares. The course's private recreational lease comes up next year. What would this mean to the sport in Hong Kong? Could the Open continue? Is the plan a good compromise? Or a sop to the elite at the expense of the public?  After 9.20, remembering Peter Moss, the Hong Kong author.

Let us know your thoughts. You can leave a message on our Facebook page, Backchat on RTHK Radio 3, email us at backchat@rthk.hk, or give us a call on 23388266.

Climate Change / Sub-contractors banned over faults in the construction of the Shatin-Central Link

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Rachel Cartland

On Wednesday's Backchat, climate change. Leading climate scientists on the UN's IPCC have warned that we have only 12 years to limit a catastrophe, that would extend to rising sea levels, more widespread disease, smaller crop yields, and devastation of plant and animal life including coral reefs. Hope they say lies in shifting to clean power generation, changing food systems, electrifying transport and developing green infrastructure including smart urban planning. What do you make of the report? What can the government or businesses do to reduce the effects of climate change? Leave a message, or email us backchat@rthk.hk, or call  us on 23388266. After 9.20, sub-contractors banned over faults in the construction of the Shatin-Central Link. - a suitable punishment?
