On Friday's Backchat, ‘foreign forces’ and China’s manned space mission.

Beijing’s new top diplomat in Hong Kong, Liu Guangyuan has called the battle against “foreign forces” his top priority. He also said those seeking to curb China’s growth or undermine its dignity are “doomed to fail”.

Recently, US Consul-General Hanscom Smith slammed the imposition of the NSL, saying it created an "atmosphere of coercion" that threatens both the city’s freedoms and its standing as an international business hub.

Hundreds of police raided Apply Daily’s office on Thursday. Five executives were arrested for allegedly colluding with foreign forces to endanger national security.

As the national security law is said to “prevent, suppress and punish any collusion with a foreign country and external elements to carry out activities that endanger national security”, who are “foreign forces”? What does the term mean? Will the NSL jeopardise Hong Kong’s position as an international metropolis?  Can we be a 'world city'?

From 9:15am-9:30am, we’re discussing China’s manned space mission; why is it significant?
