On Thursday’s Backchat, Gay games; and abandoned cars.

The Gay Games, a worldwide sport and cultural event that promotes acceptance of sexual diversity, featuring lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender athletes, artists and other individuals is scheduled here for November 2022. It will be the first one being hosted in Asia.

Some lawmakers are unhappy about the event, but the CE has said that the Gay Games promoted inclusiveness and diversity, and her government will try its best to assist.

What do you think of the event? Who can actually take part? Is Hong Kong the right place to hold it? How do we compare with other Asian cities? Will the Gay Games make a difference? Should the Government be more involved in assisting and promoting the games?

From 9:15am-9:30am, we’ll be discussing abandoned cars.  The Ombudsman says there has been no successful prosecutions against owners of abandoned vehicles since 2007. Why not? Have you seen any? What do you think of the problem?

Meanwhile, In his unsuccessful campaign for re-election, US President Donald Trump repeatedly warned that a victory for Joe Biden would be a win for China and that Beijing would "own America"; Was he right?
What are the implications for Sino-US relations, and for us in Hong Kong? Will Biden
    treat the city differently?
