On Tuesday's Backchat, we're talking about beauty pageants and what they mean in the modern era.
This year’s Miss Hong Kong contest, which concluded on Sunday, became the talk of the town after a member of the Independent Police Complaints Council and former senior government official questioned the appropriateness of outfits worn by contestants, and why they had to answer ques-tions while wearing swimsuits.
The criticism sparked a wider discussion on whether the display of contestants’ bodies was appro-priate.
After 9:15, we'll look into how the pandemic has affected children’s quality of sleep.

On Thursday's Backchat, we discuss whether sport events are making a comeback in Hong Kong…

The SAR football team is playing a friendly against Myanmar at Mong Kok Stadium tonight — the first international match since the Covid outbreak.

This comes on the heels of the announcement that the Hong Kong Marathon may well be back on in February, while the Rugby Sevens is set for November.  Does all this portend a return of competitive sport to the city following the long disruption caused by Covid?

Will this be enough momentum for more sporting events to return to the city? What about local athletes? How will they make up for lost time?
