    Sino-German relations / Hong Kong government reshuffle

    On Friday’s Backchat we talk about changes in John Lee’s cabinet.

    The Chief Executive announced his first reshuffle on Thursday at the mid-point of his five-year term, replacing transport minister Lam Sai-hung and tourism chief Kevin Yeung.
    The former Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics Mable Chan, will now fill the seat as the new transport minster and Rosanna Law, will move from her former position as housing director to take up the culture, sports and tourism portfolio.
    So why do you think the change was made now? What difference will it make?
    And on Global Focus this week, we look at Sino-German relations.

    New requirements for social welfare recipients / Lowering of animal quarantine length / Survey on employee burnout

    On Wednesday’s Backchat, we’re talking about a new measure which will require unemployed welfare recipients to do at least one hour of voluntary work per week from late next year onwards.

    The move, which aims to help the jobless better integrate into society, will impact 16,000 Comprehensive Social Security Assistance beneficiaries aged 15-59, with those failing to comply losing one week of welfare benefits.
    We’ll look into the impact of this new policy and ask social workers how they plan to put it into practice.
    After 9:30, we'll talk about new pet import rules, which will cut the quarantine period from 120 to 30 days for cats and dogs from some destinations, starting with Macau.
    After 9:45, we learn about a new survey on stress among customer service employees.
