Mark Rawson – Musician and producer / Danny Hicks – Sports news / James Marsh – Films

Welcome to Friday on Morning Brew. Producer and musician Mark Rawson will be back with us at 10.10, as we continue to feature and talk about music created over the last couple of years by Hong Kong’s wonderfully talented singers and artists. At 11.10 it’s this week’s serving (geddit?) of ‘Sports and All’ with Danny Hicks. Danny is knee deep in reporting the Australian Open for AFP today, so we may or may not be able to unleash him on Facebook live. And, after 12 it’s Marshy Movie Time, or at least it would be if the cinemas were open. Narshy Netflix Time?! He'll be reviewing new streaming releases The Tender Bar, Copshop, Peacemaker, Brazen, and Archive 81. Join James on Facebook live as usual, with your impeccable insight. (9:30am-1pm, email morningbrew@rthk.hk and Facebook).

Steve Vines – Hong Kong and Asia issues / Jeremy Lin – Hollywood script writer / Sam Ferrer and Russell Bonifede – Shaolin Paradiso / Emanuel Ax – Pianists

    主持人:Phil Whelan

Welcome to Thursday on Morning Brew. Steve Vines gets things going at 10.10 with our regular look at those, who look at us through rose tinted spectacles. In the news this week we heard that the Emperor's New Arts Hub will cost as whole lot more to complete than originally projected. In a related story, we also found out that tonight...it will be dark. This is plainly the fault of all those naughty "radicals" filibustering in Legco. Also the organisers of Occupy Central say they will consider stepping down if fewer than 100,000 people vote in an unofficial referendum on political reform. So there! Nuh! Obviously the LSD's fault too. After 11, we meet Jeremy Lin, who at the age of 17, is a fully fledged Hollywood script writer. We'll find out how he used “Kickstarter” to raise funds for his movie, and how he has invited Hong Kong star Alan Tam to be the Executive Producer. At 11.40, HK Phil member and artistic Director of the multi instrumental crossover group "Shaolin Fez", Sam Ferrer will tell us about his upcoming gig “Shaolin Paradiso” with Special Guests, “SOLER” from Macau. At 12.10, one of the world's true "A-list" concert pianists Emanuel Ax will talk about his life, work and his upcoming performance of Beethoven's magnificent 4th Piano concerto, with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. (9:30am - 1:00pm, , email morningbrew@rthk.hk)
