Good morning! It's Friday on Morning Brew. Today, by the magic of radio, we're going to whiz over to San Francisco after 10 and chat with Chef Matt Dolan, live from his restaurant: Twenty-Five Lusk. Danny Hicks will be with us at 11:10 for 'Sports and All', to talk about last week's Italian Grand Prix and a plethora of other events in the realm of sports. After 12, it's Marshy Movie Time, where James Marsh brings us the best and worst of this week's cinema.
Welcome to Morning Brew that will go down in infamy. Today, January 20th in 1841, those pesky Brits parked up at the Macau Ferry Terminal and proclaimed "Right ... we're 'avin' this". and lo, they did, heralding an era of misery and oppression. Thank goodness those dark days are over and now things here couldn't be more perfect. Yay! On today's programme we'll celebrate after 10 with Admiral Harvey Stockwin and his regular Tuesday look at the world. This week, the Pope visits the Philippines and says something about contraception, and we remember the "nice guy" of Beijing 1989, Zhao Ziyang. It's off to the theatre at 11.40. Hong Kong Rep is going in a different direction to its norm this week by performing Jerry Herman's 1964 hit musical "Hello Dolly" (in Cantonese). Choreographer Mohammed Drissi joins us in the studio. It only takes a moment! At 12.10, Steve Barnes, the Hong Kong Visa Geeza, returns. After last week's Policy Address, there's some interesting new stuff to share. Do contact Steve with your questions, however simple they may be. (9:30am-1pm, ,email email@example.com )
