Mark Rawson – Musician and producer / Danny Hicks – Sports news / James Marsh – Films

Welcome to Friday on Morning Brew. Producer and musician Mark Rawson will be back with us at 10.10, as we continue to feature and talk about music created over the last couple of years by Hong Kong’s wonderfully talented singers and artists. At 11.10 it’s this week’s serving (geddit?) of ‘Sports and All’ with Danny Hicks. Danny is knee deep in reporting the Australian Open for AFP today, so we may or may not be able to unleash him on Facebook live. And, after 12 it’s Marshy Movie Time, or at least it would be if the cinemas were open. Narshy Netflix Time?! He'll be reviewing new streaming releases The Tender Bar, Copshop, Peacemaker, Brazen, and Archive 81. Join James on Facebook live as usual, with your impeccable insight. (9:30am-1pm, email morningbrew@rthk.hk and Facebook).

Steve Vines – Hong Kong and Asia issues / Steve Barnes – Hong Kong Visa Geeza / Jon Kimura Parker and Zhang Zuo – HK chamber music festival concerts

    主持人:Phil Whelan

Today on Morning Brew, it's the pressing issues of the week (in order of decreasing importance) at 10.10 with Steve Vines. We've been told that the copyright bill needs to be handled "positively" to give the Hong Kong people a "feeling of hope"; the CE's office has paid HK$600 for a three-month license for uploading a duff video of the man "singing" a Canto pop song on his Facebook page (Dali-esque, yes, but none the less true). Also, apparently there will be "serious consequences" (for who?) if the building of the express railway to Guangzhou is suspended. Oh yes, and some blokes who sell books are still on holiday on the mainland, or some such. Next! After 11.30 Steve Barnes, the Hong Kong Visa Geeza returns to answer any questions you may have about your visa situation in Asia's Weird City. At 12.10 we meet the world famous Canadian concert pianist Jon Kimura Parker who's no stranger to Hong Kong, and undoubtedly very happy to be back for some chamber music festival concerts this week. Joining Jon will be Chinese piano star Zhang Zuo, who's currently in a two-year residency with the BBC's flagship New Generation Artists program, which includes performing as a soloist at the BBC Proms.
