Welcome to Fryday on Morning Brew. At 10.10 today our weekly trip to Durban, South Africa to catch up with Chef Jason Black. This week he wants to talk about the origins of French food, which for reasons you’ll hear, the French may prefer to keep quiet about. He also has a classic Escoffier recipe for you. After 11 we meet an amazing young musician. French Horn player Felix Klieser is from Germany, and he’s here to perform as soloist with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of HK. Apart from being a wonderful player, Felix has a totally (and I mean completely mind blowingly) unique technique. At 12.10 we’re off to the movies with James Marsh, who'll be reviewing Vice and The Favourite, as well as making his final Oscar predictions. Join us on Facebook Live.

Welcome to a new week on Morning Brew. We’ll begin at 10.10 with our weekly rugby report from Robbie McRobbie. Today he reports live from Scotland...where it will be 2 in the morning. He’s currently wide awake wondering what he’d do if he ever suffered from insomnia. At 10.40 (for this week) Dr. Merrin Pearse will be with us for his regular eco-bit. The Royal Commonwealth Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year with...a cricket match, in fact the Commonwealth Cricket Cup, this coming weekend. Its Chairman Peter Mann joins us after 11. At 12.10 we welcome Nanjing based British artist Bill Aitchison to the programme. He’ll tell you all about his current exhibition here called Quick Fix.
