Morning Brew: James Ross in the chair today as we say TGIF!... We kick off with Food on Friday after 10 as we focus this morning on organics and self-sustainability, and we're joined by Peggy Chan, Founder & Principal Chef Consultant at Grassroots. After 11 Sports And All with Danny Hicks. We'll talk about the cancellation of the Sevens, Liverpool being beaten overnight by Man City, and the weekend ahead. After 11.30 we've the final part of Music Of My Life with Clark Datchler of Johnny Hates Jazz, as we hear about his new album and single, and play some of the tracks that have inspired him through the years. After 12 James Marsh with all that's new in movies, including Eurovision, Irresistible, Intruder, and #iamhere.
Welcome to Thursday on Morning Brew. Commentator (Commendatore) Steve Vines is back after 10 for his weekly look as Asia’s Weird City. The big news this week does concern airborne particles, but not the kind that come from a canister. Something far worse, and with the traditional Lunar New Year migration about to happen on the mainland, it really is now a force to be reckoned with. After 11 we meet legendary Slovenian music and cross media group Laibach, who performed here last night. The gig was called ‘Sound of Music’, which references their iconic rehash of...The Lonely Goatherd (and other songs from the classic musical...but why?). Dr Dave the vet will be with us at 11.40 today. With a new year around the corner, we’ll probably end up talking about firecrackers and rats at some stage. After 12 it’s our weekly wine class with Maestro JC Viens who’s somewhere in deepest Europe today.
