Jarrod Watt – Aussie journalist / Sustainabilist Merrin Pearse and Dana Winograd - Plastic Free Seas / Morris Miselowski – Business futurism / Paul French – Best selling author

Good morning and welcome to Tuesday on Morning Brew. After 10 today Jarrod Watt will give us this week’s spoonful of Aussieness, complete with a new track from iconic Australian rockers Midnight Oil. At 11.10 we’ll go out and meet Dr. Merrin Pearse. Today he’s joined by Dana Winograd from Plastic Free Seas, who will talk about the black rubber that has been washing up on a beach in DIscovery Bay. After 12 biz futurist Morris Miselowski joins us from Melbourne for this week’s technological coin-flip. We’ll look at the future of office culture. It’s frequently said these days that we’ve learned to work so much more effectively recently “on the go”. But, is it for everyone? Some people seem to need the 9-5, four walls and a desk culture to quantify “work”. So where will this satellite/multi tasking approach leave them? Finally at 12.40, best selling author Paul French will give us a sunrise over Sussex, as he joins us live from the UK to talk about his recent SCMP piece on what he calls Hong Kong’s “year from hell”... 1937.

Robbie McRobbie – Rugby / Tracy Quan – Columnist / Peter Gordon and Juan José Morales – Painter and Patron / Chris Caldwell – Delta Saxophone Quartet’s baritone player

    主持人:Phil Whelan

Welcome to a new week on Morning Brew. Robbie McRobbie will give you all of this week’s rugby news at 10.10. After 10.30 NYC correspondent Tracy Quan wants to tell you about how a recent walk around town examining the outdoor restaurant scene led to thoughts of New York in 1969, when when Norman Mailer ran for mayor. At 11.10 we’ll meet authors (of The Silver Way) Peter Gordon and Juan José Morales, with their new book “Painter and Patron: The Maritime Silk Road in the Códice Casanatense”. Put very simply, it explores some of the hidden stories behind a set of 16th century illustrations depicting life on the ancient trade route. After 12, we’re off to the UK for two reasons. One is to listen to some music by one of the country’s foremost contemporary ensembles, but we’ll also chat to the Delta Saxophone Quartet’s baritone player, Chris Caldwell, about musical life post-Brexit and during COVID.
