Welcome to Tuesday on Morning Brew. Do you know what Godwin’s Law is? Well, it’s very likely the first theory on how people behave online, and its author must have had a crystal ball in 1990 when he came up with it. In the infancy of the web, American attorney Mike Godwin said that “as an online discussion (on bulletin boards in those days) grows longer, the probability of a comparison to Nazis or Hitler approaches...1”. How was Mike to know he’d almost achieved Nostradamus status with that little gem? as in 2004 his law would grow thousands of newly opinionated, easily wounded heads with the advent of Facebook. He joins us at 10.10 this morning, live from New York. After 10.30 Jarrod Watt is back with the latest from Australia, and of course some great Aussie music. Dr. Merrin Pearse will be out and about in the country again today, and he’s going to be joined by Hong Kong’s favourite snake man, William Sargent. And, after 12 we’ll be with biz futurist Morris Miselowski, who joins us from Melbourne for some alien hunting on Venus.
