Carolyn Wright and Paul Haswell (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9.30 and 1.
Carrying on from where they left off on Saturday nights on RTHK Radio 3, join them to hear excellent music, including tracks from their album of the week, as well as interviews and live music in the studio about upcoming events they think you ought to hear about, plus a selection of their favourite tracks from a different year each week.
Added to that they’ll be reviewing new movies, alongside much irreverent chit chat and interviews about food, drink and fun in HK, there’ll even be a bit of sport!
The Sunday Escape brings you another show filled with the very best in brand new music along with new tracks from Jenny Lewis, Fitz and the Tantrums, Maverick Sabre, Lambchop, Lucy Rose and loads more including a new album of the week.
Paul will be joined in the studio by Hong Kong artist Alex Croft, responsible for one of the most famous pieces of street art in Hong Kong. Alex will be talking about his forthcoming exhibition on 4-12 April at Moonzen Brewery as well as playing some of his favourite tracks. Alex also DJs regularly, playing reggae dub plates around the city, so expect some highlights from those.
On top of that there'll be a tribute to surf rock legend Dick Dale, the latest splatter platter, gastronomy corner, and whatever other else comes into Paul’s head ...
Tune in live from 9.30 to 1pm. If you want to get in touch with the show you can text on 9384 1424.(Sundays, 9.30am-1pm)
Sunday Escape: This Sunday the Pop Fugitives will be getting back into the swing of rounding up some of the latest music releases. Since there aren't all that many actually coming out this week itself, they'll be playing a few tracks from albums they are most excited about being released in the first few months of the year. They'll also look ahead to some of the most exciting upcoming music events happening around Hong Kong, including the return of "The Week".
They'll also be reviewing some of their favourite games they finally got to play over the course of the holidays, including Betrayal Legacy and Detective: A Modern Crime Board Game, especially for those cold January days when all you want to do is hide somewhere warm!
Sadly we've seen a few musicians leaving us over the last few days, so we'll be playing a few songs in tribute and finally, we will of course be eating biscuits! (Sundays 9.30am-1pm)
