Sunday Escape

主持人:Paul Haswell

Paul Haswell (AKA the Pop Fugitive) is plotting to make his Escape every Sunday morning between 9.30 and 1.

Join him every Sunday on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in music, with plenty of new records including tracks from his album of the week, as well as interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio plus all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.

On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.

Sheena Is A Punk Rocker

There’s a bumper crop of new records out this week on the Sunday Escape, with loads of new singles plus new albums from Bombay Bicycle Club, Halsey, Mura Masa and Gabrielle Aplin, one of which may well be Paul’s album of the week.
Joining Paul in the studio is Oliver Breit, who’ll be talking about forthcoming punk gigs in Hong Kong gigs from Stiff Little Fingers and Black Flag, which take place on February 11 and March 26, as well as the vibrant punk scene and its relevance to all that’s going on in the world today.
On top of that, Paul has taken delivery of a bumper crop of Scottish biscuits, which will surely feature on the show, plus there’ll be all the usual nonsense including Terrifying Tots On The Pops plus all the random music Paul’s been listening to through the week. Tune in on Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm!

Happy Year Of The Rat!

It’s a festive mood on the Sunday Escape as Paul celebrates the Year of the Rat in style with the finest in tenuously rat-themed music as well as a run through all of the week’s best new releases. This includes the brand new album from the Pet Shop Boys, “Hotspot”, which is their fourteenth studio album and Paul’s album of the week.

As well as celebrating Chinese New Year, Paul is celebrating Burns Night, with some Scottish tracks and possibly even some poetry from Robert Burns. There’s also Paul’s guide to surviving the Chinese New Year holidays and red packet etiquette, which may or may not prove invaluable in the coming days.

Of course there’s all the usual features too, with a tribute to Monty Python great Terry Jones who sadly passed away this week. Plus biscuits. Tune in on Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm !

Glen Alfred and Jeff Anello

主持人:Paul Haswell

On this week’s Sunday Escape, Paul is joined in the studio by two musicians, Glen Alfred and Jeff Anello of The Anello. Both will be talking about writing songs, performing in Hong Kong and further afield, and of course their musical influences. They’ll also be picking a few tracks, both of their own and some of their favourites by other artists. Glen will be on air from 11 with Jeff joining Paul from 11-1.

As ever, Paul will also be playing all the week’s best new music. It’s a quieter week for new stuff as we enter December and Christmas looms, but there’s still plenty of new tracks out there with new releases from Bombay Bicycle Club, Tuxedo and The Weekend. There’ll also be an album of the week, and a look at a very exciting Factory Records box set.

On top of all that there is of course the usual nonsense too, including (hopefully decent) biscuits! Tune in on Sunday morning from 9.30 to 1pm.
