Sunday Escape

主持人:Paul Haswell and Carolyn Wright

Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9 and 1.

Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.

On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.

There Is No Such Thing As Too Many Records

It’s a massive week for brand new albums on the Sunday Escape this week. The list of new releases includes the debut long-player from girl in red as well as records from The Coral, Julia Stone, Teenage Fanclub, Manchester Orchestra, Birdy and Royal Blood. That’s the biggest week for new albums so far this year, meaning there’s plenty of competition for Paul and Carolyn’s pick for album of the week. There will of course be plenty of new singles too, along with whatever else has been spinning on the Pop Fugitives’ turntables.
Sadly, this week we lost Australian singer-songwriter Anita Lane, who was an early member of and collaborator with the Birthday Party and the Bad Seeds before releasing two solo albums. There'll be a tribute to her. There’s also all the usual features too, with another instalment of the Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz and naturally another in depth investigation into the world of biscuits.
Tune in on Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

A Fistful Of Biscuits

主持人:Paul Haswell and Carolyn Wright

On this week’s Sunday Escape there’s another look at the finest new music of the week, with brand new albums from NZCA Lines and The Streets, plus new singles from Rayes, Gerard Way and Fat Trout Trailer Park, which joins the list of interesting band names from this year. Paul and Carolyn will also be playing everything they’ve been listening to this week for your musical delectation.

This includes music from legendary composer Ennio Morricone, who sadly passed away this week, along with legendary country fiddler Charlie Daniels. There’s also a new Extended Play and another Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz, which Paul has promised will be "very, very easy" this week.

On top of all that there’ll be all the usual nonsense, in-depth conversation on meaningless topics, a consideration of the finest non-Morricone soundtracks of all time, and of course biscuits which are Ringo Starr themed to celebrate his 80th birthday. Tune in on Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm!
