Sunday Escape

簡介

GIST

主持人:Paul Haswell and Carolyn Wright

Paul and Carolyn (AKA the Pop Fugitives) are plotting to make their Escape every Sunday morning between 9.30 and 1.

Join them on the Sunday Escape to hear the best in new music, including three tracks from their album of the week, along with a carefully curated selection of classics, plus interviews with guests from all over the city and beyond. There’s also occasional live music in the studio and all the details of upcoming music events in Hong Kong.

On top of all that is “Biscuit Review”, now a Sunday Escape institution, a feature perfectly designed to complement the most eclectic mix of music on Radio 3.

Crying At The Discotheque

It’s a quieter week for new music this week but despite that Paul and Carolyn still have all the finest records to play on this week’s Sunday Escape, including new singles from The Nude Party, Bruce Springsteen and ViVii plus albums from Gus Dapperton, Fenne Lily, and Bright Light Bright Light. Paul and Carolyn will also be playing all their favourite records of the last couple of months too along with whatever else has been rocking the Pop Fugitives’ turntables over the past week, including some classics which have just been reissued on vinyl.

There’s all the usual nonsense too, with a new album of the week, another Extended Play (which is a song longer than six minutes you won’t normally expect to hear on the radio), the return of KnitHits (songs involving knitwear - don’t ask) and of course gastronomy corner (which is just a fancy name for biscuit review).

Tune in live on Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm!

All These Wires

主持人:Paul Haswell and Carolyn Wright

There’s a load of interesting new music out this week, with new tracks from Baba Ali, Emmy The Great, Jonsi, All We Are and more, with most of them being a taste of albums to look forward to in the second half of 2020. Paul and Carolyn will be playing all of those on this week’s Sunday Escape, as well tracks from their album of the week, which could be from Glass Animals, or could be from Whitney, or could be from someone else entirely.

In addition to that there’s a look at the fallout from the comments by Spotify’s CEO on how musicians should create music. Should artists be continually engaged with fans, or should the music be allowed to exist as an art rather than a product? There’s also all the usual features too, such as Knit Hits (yes, it’s still going), the Super Clever Music Mystery Quiz, a new Extended Play and naturally there will be biscuits.

Tune in on Sunday from 9.30am to 1pm!
