Our first hour starts a hot new single from Douala born Paris based Irma (Cameroon), then our first African Diva single with Les Amazones d’Afrique (Mali-Burkina Faso-Guinea-Ivory Coast), a dedication to her elder sister from Clara Luciani (France), our next first of a few hot hits from Diva Kandy Guira (Burkina Faso), in between which we hear new sounds from Reggaetón Award winning J Balvin (Colombia), multilingual love balad from Da Silva (France), star-studded AfroPop from James BKS ft Q-Tip & Little Simz & (see photo) actor director and singer Idris Elba (France-US-UK), ending the first hour with debut EP HipHop newcommer Hervé (France). Our second hour continues our sampling of New African Diva tracks with a few singles from ‘Creole Queen’ Morgane Ji (Reunion), in between which we hear new creations from the Golden Voice of Highlife, Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band (Ghana), African migrants and Japanese Samurai inspired Marseilles HipHop from legendary IAM (France), a Creole tribute to ‘supporters of the Resistance’ from Brussels based duo Sage come des Sauvages (Belgium), then our first track of two from MalagasyRockPop trio Kristel (Madagascar), in between which we hear more new sounds from mature artiste Jeanne Cherhal (France), ending the hour and the show with a new hit from London based DJ duo sampling Congo recordings of the 50’s with Saronde (UK-Congo). We hear his original recordings as well as covers of his classics from some of the biggest international names in ‘chanson’ ! And we sample more Hot New Hits from the four corners of the planet ! Our first hour is entirely devoted to our mini-musical tribute to (see photo) Jacques Brel born on 8th April 1929, singer-songwriter, poet, actor and movie director ! Later in his career he also became a sailor and a pilot before passing away in 1978. We hear some of his early classic songs from the ‘50s and the ‘60s, with covers of his biggest hits recorded from the ‘70s to the ‘00s from Claude Nougaro (France), - M – [Mathieu Chedid] (France), Michel Rivard (Canada), Alain Bashung (France), Zebda (France), Arno (Belgium), and ending the tribute and the hour with the original Brel rendition of ‘Ne me quittes pas’, followed by a rousing Salsa version of the same song from Yuri Buenaventura (Colombia).
