    Nomadic Massive LP & Hot World Hits !

    This week World Vibes has two musical themes of note ! First our Featured Album from Montréal based multicultural multilinguist MC Beat Possee, Nomadic Massive, celebrating their Fifteenth Anniversary with a new album !     Our first hour starts off with melodic guitar mastery from Malagasy singing quintet Andro Marary (Madagascar), then on to our first track from our featured album ‘Times’of the six MC collective Nomadic Massive who rap and sing in Arabic, Jive, Creole, Spanish, French and English, and in between our sampled tracks we hear more new sounds from Psychedelic ‘70s TurkoJazzFolk band Altın Gün (Holland-Turkey), the world in a story from singer-songwriter Nek (Italy), love is forever from SouthWest band Boulevard des Airs (France), the generation gap gets crossed with dueting Calypso Rose and Machel Montano (Trinidad & Tobago), and after one more multilingual single from our featured album, we end the first hour with an inspired musical feeling from Clara Luciani (France). New sounds, new ideas, new messages and more, enjoy !
    Our second hour continues with our two musical themes, starting with a new Voodoo version of a Classic Angolan Hit from Sao Paolo based Coladera (Brazil), then on to our next hit from our featured album from Nomadic Massive, originally released as a single, then in between album tracks we sample new hits from rappers turned singers Féfé & Leeroy (France), spicing up Pop the Latino way with Alan Walker & Sabrina Carpenter with Farruko (Norway-USA-Puerto Rico), TechnoSoulRap from Canberra based Genesis Owusu (Ghana-Australia), excellence like Football Stars from TheGiornalisti (Italy), and after what’s almost a multi-genre love balad from our featured Nomadic Massive album, we end the show with London based AfroElectroPostPunk band Ibibio Sound Machine (UK-Nigeria).     Tribute to Jacques Brel & Hot World Hits !

    This week World Vibes has two musical themes of note ! First our mini musical tribute to Belgian legendary icon Jacques Brel, who was born 90 years ago this Monday 8th April ! We hear his original recordings as well as covers of his classics from some of the biggest international names in ‘chanson’ ! And we sample more Hot New Hits from the four corners of the planet !     Our first hour is entirely devoted to our mini-musical tribute to (see photo) Jacques Brel born on 8th April 1929, singer-songwriter, poet, actor and movie director ! Later in his career he also became a sailor and a pilot before passing away in 1978. We hear some of his early classic songs from the ‘50s and the ‘60s, with covers of his biggest hits recorded from the ‘70s to the ‘00s from Claude Nougaro (France), - M – [Mathieu Chedid] (France), Michel Rivard (Canada), Alain Bashung (France), Zebda (France), Arno (Belgium), and ending the tribute and the hour with the original Brel rendition of ‘Ne me quittes pas’, followed by a rousing Salsa version of the same song from Yuri Buenaventura (Colombia). Songs from the heart and more, enjoy !
    Our second hour samples new hits from YBNL Yoruba rapper Olamide (Nigeria), ‘love without pain’ from Ivan Noble (Argentina), Lingala Bofenia Rock from producer Yarol and Jupiter (France-DR Congo), ‘baaaaaad thoughts’ from The Kolors & Elodie (Italy), ElectroSambaMPB from Sociedade Recreativa (Brazil-USA), Techno intimacy for the dance floor from duo Cordon Rouge (Netherlands), ‘Servis Kabaré’ TranseTrad in Creole from Trans Kabar (Reunion), dramatic love duet from now touring Biaggio Antonacci & Laura Pausini (Italy), ‘dig that Salsa beat’ from Spanish Harlem Orchestra (USA), break up song from Madrid based Leiva (Spain), ending the hour and the show with up tempo AfroBeat HipHop from Starboy & Wizkid (Nigeria).
