This week World Vibes has two musical themes on offer ! First our Featured Album, a ‘Save the Planet’ offering from the King of African Reggae, Ivory Coast’s (see photo) Tiken Jah Fakoly ! Our first hour starts with a new Anglo-Latino hit from Becky G with Digital Animal Farms ft Rvssian (USA-UK-Jamaica), then we play our first track, the title track with guest Soprano (Comores-France), from our featured album ‘Le monde est chaud’ (The World Is Hot) from Reggae King, Tiken Jah Fakoly; in between more tracks from the album, we hear new hits from Porto based ElectroKuduroRock trio Throes + The Shine (Angola-Portugal), a phonecall duet in German and French from Adel Tawil & Peaches (Germany-Bulgaria), ‘cinema is music’ from Geneva based Vendredi sur mer (Switzerland), ‘flying on wings of love’ with Andalusian trio Bombai (Spain), ending the hour with a last track from our featured album decrying the theft of Africa’s wealth by it’s rulers, from straight singing Tiken Jah Fakoly. Our second hour continues our two musical themes, starting with a new DanceFunk track from our show’s theme singer Jovanotti with producer Stardust (Italy), a SónSalsaAfroJazz TransAtlantic Septet called ¿Who's the Cuban? (Cuba-France), our next track for our featured album with Reggae giant Tiken Jah Fakoly singing in his native Dioula and French; in between album tracks we hear new hits from Pop Queen Latino-ized from Vanesa Martín with Carlos Jean (Spain-Haiti), a TransAtlantic Dance Remix of YosoyMatt & Eva de Marce by Polocorp (Mexico-France), singing her own lyrics is Milan based Bianca Atzei (Italy), Creole Jazz trio from the heart with Akoda (Reunion), ending the hour and the show with our last single from our featured album, letting nature speak of ecology with traditional African instruments to the fore from Master Reggae Poet, Tiken Jah Fakoly. We hear his original recordings as well as covers of his classics from some of the biggest international names in ‘chanson’ ! And we sample more Hot New Hits from the four corners of the planet ! Our first hour is entirely devoted to our mini-musical tribute to (see photo) Jacques Brel born on 8th April 1929, singer-songwriter, poet, actor and movie director ! Later in his career he also became a sailor and a pilot before passing away in 1978. We hear some of his early classic songs from the ‘50s and the ‘60s, with covers of his biggest hits recorded from the ‘70s to the ‘00s from Claude Nougaro (France), - M – [Mathieu Chedid] (France), Michel Rivard (Canada), Alain Bashung (France), Zebda (France), Arno (Belgium), and ending the tribute and the hour with the original Brel rendition of ‘Ne me quittes pas’, followed by a rousing Salsa version of the same song from Yuri Buenaventura (Colombia).
