This week World Vibes has two musical themes of note ! First our featured album celebrating the twentieth career anniversary of Marseilles based Reggae Big Band ‘Raspigaous’ ! Our first hour starts with a pro-environment composition from Sao Paolo based Rael (Brazil), then our first track off our featured album ‘Nouvel R’ (New Reggae Airs) from Lionel Achenga led Raspigaous (France), then in between album tracks we hear more new sounds from latina proud Jennifer Lopez (US), stunning Jazzed-up Cumbia from Roberto Fonseca (Cuba), emo tribute to ‘mother’ from actor M. Pokora (France), and after one particular inspired tribute to their native city of Marseilles from our featured album, we end the first hour with a prosaic love balad from Montreal based Pierre Lapointe (Canada). New inspired sounds and creations, enjoy !
Our second hour continues with our two musical themes, starting with a new ‘Afrobeat meets Harlem’ duet between Seyi Shay & Teyana Taylor (UK-Nigeria-US), then our next Beat based track form our featured Big Band Reggae album ‘Nouvel R’ from Raspigaous, and in between more album tracks we hear new sounds from international Big Band outfit Sir Jean & NMB Afrobeat Experience (France-Namibia-US), Reggaeton love from CNCO & Manuel Turizo (US-Colombia), well crafted Raio Pop from newcomer Elisa Erka (France), a girl with her ways from duetting Sofia Reyes & Jhay Cortes (Mexico-Puerto Rico), and after one last ‘mould breaking’ track from our featured album, we end the hour and the show with an acoustic ArabFolk track from Paris based Souad Massi (Algeria). Our first hour starts off with new sounds from Nairobi born AfroRapPercussionist Muthoni Ndonga aka Muthoni Drummer Queen (Kenya-Switzerland), ‘running for love’with Keen’V (France), next we sample a few tracks from our featured album ‘Combat 4 Dub’ from Lyons based Reggae band Brain Dead, celebrating their 20th Anniversary, with guest singers Horace Andy (Jamaica), Willi Williams (Jamaica-Martinique), Harrison Stafford (USA) and Tena Stelin (UK), in between which we hear more new singles from ElectroRap-Classical Arabic Poetry trio N3rdistan (Morocco), a rousing tribute to the Blues from 2 DJs and 3 guest singers Takagi & Ketra ft Calcutta, Tommaso Paradiso & Jovanotti (Italy), Nigeria inspired Santeria-Salsa from Bronx-Brooklyn band Okonkolo (USA), and after another track from our featured album we end the first hour with a new ‘Reggae goes Reggaetón’ hit from Sean Paul & J Balvin (Jamaica-Colombia). Our second hour continues our sampling New Hits from legendary Addis Ababa singer Asnake Guebreye lead EthioJazzGroove band Ukandanz (Ethiopia-France), ‘bad love bad luck’ balad from Sevillano singer Hugo Salazar (Spain), then we sample a few more tracks from our featured album Çombat 4 Dub’ with tracks featuring guest singers Macky Ruff y La Gaitana (Colombia), Sir Jean (France), Zeb McQueen (Scotland),, in between which we hear new hits from WolofRap duo Natty Jean & Awadi (Senegal), Latino Lave balad from Greeicy & Nacho (Colombia-Venezuela), stunning Yoruba AfroHouse from Niniola (Nigeria), SW Catalan Gypsy meets NE Italian accordion with duetting Kendji Girac & Claudio Capéo (France), ending the hour and the show with our last track from our featured album with special guest singer, think experimental Yoko Ono style, Emiko Ota (Japan).
