Looking 4ward gives you a 'behind the scenes’ look at Radio 4. It's a way of staying on top of our ever-evolving programme lineup. This week, with the reopening of venues and the easing of restrictions, outside broadcasts are back and live recordings made by Radio 4 return to Live on 4. Find out where we've been and what you can hear. And, you can meet Radio 4's Daphne Lee, presenter of the popular Four for Classics show.

This week’s guest is composer Phoebus Lee who talks about Iannis Xenakis, born 100 years ago on 29/5. He discusses his process and some of his compositions, 2 of which you can hear on the programme. The 2021 Top Ten Music Headlines nominations were recently announced, and on 11 Jan the polling ended. The results will be announced on the programme on 22 Jan when I will be joined by music critic Oliver Chou. For many years Kathy Lam has been the project’s co-ordinator and she joins me to talk about its beginnings and some Top 10 headlines that took us by surprise.
The 50th anniversary of Michael Rabin’s death is on 19 Jan - "one of the most talented and tragic violin virtuosi of his generation". We remember him with an early recording from 1950.
And there are details of the final concert from the third FRSO Festival which focused on one of the world’s most famous contemporary composers, Thomas Adès, on Live on 4 on Tues 18 Jan at 8 pm.
