As the love life of Ellen (played by Catherine CHAU) hits rock bottom, she escapes from reality and goes back to Tai O, where she grew up but never liked, to isolate herself from other people. At the same time, the Postmaster (played by Joe CHEUNG) is about to retire, and he hands over the important responsibility of feeding the stray cats to Ellen.
Since then, Ellen enjoys the cats’ company. Every day, she watches the cats eat and drink, yawn, and lick their hair ... The wound in her soul is magically cured! The trust from the cats makes Ellen feel the simplest and direct connection of life, and she once again feels the meaning of life that she is “being needed”.
After falling in love with the cats, Ellen gradually notices that there are many problems around her, which are related to the stray cats. She gives a hand out of her strong sense of justice, and embarks on the road of an animal welfare volunteer. In the process, she meets the like-minded Minnie (played by Pancy CHAN). They gather more volunteers and organise activities, and they are determined to turn Tai O into a harmonious community for people and cats. Surprisingly, it turns out that this road of volunteer is actually an opportunity for Ellen to know Tai O again ...
