為了尋找熊人的下落，五兄弟姊妹展開了一場奇妙的冒險之旅，途中遇到種種意想不到的難關。孩子們克服困難，鼓起勇氣穿過荒蕪的草叢，走過黏稠的泥路，越過又大又神秘的森林，並冒著暴風雪的吹襲繼續旅程。他們走進一個又窄又陰森的山洞探險，就在Rosie和她的忠心小狗Rufus跟其他人失散之時，迎面遇上了一隻熊人。

Rosie起初受到驚嚇，但很快便發現熊人只是感到又冷又孤單，牠需要一個朋友。當Rosie和熊人剛剛建立了友誼，其他人找到了她，卻誤會熊人帶有惡意，於是拉著Rosie拔足就跑，在回程的鄉間路上，熊人一直緊追不捨。安全回家後，孩子們將冒險經歷一一告訴爸爸、媽媽和婆婆，他們都感到難以置信。那一晚的家庭派對上，Rosie依然想念著她的老朋友——可憐的熊人正獨個兒回到幽幽的山洞。

When five siblings set off on an unlikely adventure in search of a bear they come up against a host of unexpected obstacles. Rising to the challenge, the children venture through long wavy grass, thick oozy mud, a big dark forest and a swirling whirling snowstorm. While exploring a narrow gloomy cave, middle sister Rosie and her faithful dog Rufus take a different path from the rest of the children and come face to face with a bear.

Initially scared, Rosie soon realises the bear is simply cold and lonely and in need of a friend. Just as Rosie and the bear begin to develop a bond the other children find her and, not realising the bear is friendly, drag her away, charging back through the countryside with the bear in hot pursuit. Back in the safety of their own home, the children tell their disbelieving parents and grandma all about their adventures. Later that evening a family party begins but Rosie can’t stop thinking about the poor old bear, who has returned all alone to his gloomy cave.
