Many Nepalese who are born and brought up in Hong Kong are not familiar with Nepalese literature which is the back bone on shaping our thoughts and ideas. This programme will try to introduce Nepalese literature and writers to the Nepalese listeners who are not aware of it and help them on knowing more about Nepal and the wisdom of their literature.

This play is written by Bal Krishna Sama who originally was Bal Krishna Samsher Rana and later made his name into Bal Krishna Sama to hide his aristocratic background and to be known as a simple folk. He is also known as Shakeshpeare of Nepali literature as he wrote many plays and novels despite facing lots of political obstacles. He was liberal minded in the Rana regime who spoke for the people through his literary work. This story revolves around how a Rana General in those times happens to fall in love with a maid who was in love with another servant of the palace. The general tries to win her love by transferring her lover to different place only to find that they both were deeply in love with each other. This also was made into a famous movie.
