Proposals to streamline the dismissal of civil servants / Research on pain among street cleaners

    主持人:Danny Gittings and Jenny Lam

On Wednesday's Backchat, we're looking into the administration's plans to streamline the dismissal procedure for poorly performing civil servants.
The proposed overhaul could see employees with unsatisfactory appraisals have their chances to respond to criticism reduced, while heads of department would no longer have to consult an independent panel when reviewing sub-par staff.
Hailed by some legislators for boosting efficiency, the proposed move has been criticized by unionists who worry it could impact workers' morale.
What do you think? Is this long overdue? Or are we becoming too tough on civil servants?
In the last part, we learn more from a research on the prevalence of body pain among street cleaners.
