Increase in organ donor sign-ups / Wealth for Good Summit

On Wednesday's Backchat, we looked into the issue of organ donation.

The city recently achieved a milestone — with an all-time high of 400,000 people having signed up for the Centralised Organ Donation Register.
Health Minister Lo Chung-mau said while the number is encouraging, it represents only 6 percent of Hong Kong's total population. So, how can we encourage more people to sign up?
After the news at 9:30, we talked about the Wealth for Good Summit that's being held in Hong Kong.

China-US tech race / Donald Trump's plan to "take over" Gaza

    主持人:Brian Wong and Philip Wong

On Friday's edition of Global Focus, we’re talking about the innovation race between China and the US.

From the release of artificial intelligence app DeepSeek to award-winning Chinese scientists leaving US universities to take up roles in China, the past month has shown signs of deepening competition between the world’s two largest economies.
While some view these developments a sign of decoupling, others see it as beneficial to both sides, with tools such as open source seen as having a potential to strengthen collaboration between the two giants.
In the second part of the show, we discuss the future of Gaza, following US President Donald Trump’s proposals to take over the war-torn enclave. Should we take him seriously?

    9:05am-9:30am: China-US tech race

9:05am-9:30am: Simon Goldstein, AI researcher and Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong

9:05am-9:30am: Herman Cappelen, Chair Professor in Philosophy, The University of Hong Kong

9:30am-10:00am: Donald Trump's plan to "take over" Gaza

9:30am-10:00am: Eyal Mayroz, Senior Lecturer in Peace and Conflict Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, The University of Sydney

9:45am-10:00am: Prof. Shahram Akbarzadeh, Director of the Middle East Studies Forum at Deakin University in Australia
