Elon Musk's influence on the US government / Proposals to make hiking trails more tourist friendly

    主持人:Tony Sabine and CM Chan

On Wednesday's Backchat, we’re looking into Elon Musk’s influence over the US federal government.

From accessing classified data to dismantling Congress approved bodies, the world’s richest man has been given unprecedented powers – which critics say go well beyond advising the Trump administration.
This comes as New York federal judge temporarily blocked Musk’s team from accessing the systems used to process trillions of dollars in payment, ruling that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and political appointees had no legal powers to inspect files containing the personal data of millions of Americans.
Musk was quick to react, describing the judge as “corrupt” and saying that he should be impeached. So what does federal law say about the role of private citizens in government? We'll ask the experts.
After 9:50, we discuss lawmakers' suggestions to develop touristic facilities around Hong Kong's hiking trails.

9:05am-9:50am: Elon Musk's influence on the US government

9:05am-9:50am: Jeffrey Swartz, Professor at Cooley Law School and former Florida judge

9:05am-9:30am: John Burns, Emeritus and Honorary Professor at the Department of Politics and Public Administration, The University of Hong Kong

9:30am-9:50am: Josef Gregory Mahoney, Professor in Politics and International Relations, East China Normal University (Shanghai)

9:50am-10:00am: Proposals to make hiking trails more tourist friendly
