New batch of Epstein files / Record high Belt and Road investment figures / Social network for AI agents

On Friday's programme, we began with a closer look at the latest tranche of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The millions of documents released by the US Department of Justice contained the names of the rich and the powerful, from Elon Musk to Bill Gates, Republicans, Democrats, British politicians, Israeli intelligence agents, among others.

We then talked to experts on what the implications are, and if Epstein's victims are any closer to getting justice.

After the break, we heard from a scholar about how the Belt and Road Initiative was able to hit a record-high last year in total investment and construction. The mega-project has seen a deepening of economic cooperation in Africa and Central Asia.

And lastly, we talked with our tech correspondent and learn all about 'Moltbook', a social media platform that's designed for AI agents. Should we be amused, or afraid?

    Budget review / Tunnel safety

    主持人:Andrew Work and Paul Zimmerman

On Friday's Backchat, we talk about the Budget and its impact on the private sector.

Whilst largely regarded as "belt tightening", the newly unveiled economic blueprint promises a range of incentives to leverage Hong Kong's competitive edge.
From the allocation of a HK$ 1 billion fund establishing an Artificial Intelligence Research Institute to a HK$1.5 billion Research Matching Grant Scheme, tech workers are expected to be among those benefiting the most from these policies.
However, uncertainty looms as to whether pay freezes for civil servants would lead other sectors to follow suit.
After 9:45, we speak to a structural engineer over the safety of Hong Kong's Cross-Harbour Tunnel, as a vehicle was hit by a piece concrete falling from the ceiling.

    9:05am-9:45am: Budget review

9:05am-9:45am: Roy Ying,Co-Chairperson (Advocacy and Policy Research Committee), Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management

9:05am-9:45am: Kevin Tsui, Economist and Founder of public policy think-tank Pagoda

9:30am-9:45am: Prof William Wong, Lawmaker and Director of the Centre for Innovation and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
