DSE results announcement / Beijing supply chain expo / Pet welfare

On Wednesday’s Backchat, we first dived into education amid the release of the latest DSE results. The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority said a total of 16 students received perfect scores in the university entrance exams – up from ten last year.
16,393 candidates, or 38.5 percent of them, meanwhile, met the minimum requirement needed for a publicly-funded university place.

How are the university admissions coming along, and for students who didn’t perform quite as well, what options are available to them? We spoke to an education expert to find out more.
After the break, we turned our attention to the Third China International Supply Chain Expo that kicked off in Beijing. The global convention, attended by over 650 companies from 75 countries and regions, showcases six core industry sectors, and will centre on the innovative enhancement of global supply chains.
We then wrapped things up by speaking to the New People’s Party about ways to improve pet welfare in the city.

Circular fashion initiatives / Hung Shui Kiu transit system / Audible traffic signal revamp

    主持人:Azam Khan and Philip Wong

On Wednesday's Backchat, we discussed fast-fashion and its impact on the environment.

NGO 'Redress' has recently launched a campaign to encourage sustainable fashion, while another Hong Kong-based platform, Open Lab, has introduced an AI-powered system to boost garment recycling. We spoke to representatives from both organisations. Is sustainable fashion a workable model that can reduce damage to the environment? Or is it just another trend for corporations to 'dress-up' the issue?
After the break, we asked a government spokesperson more about the proposed Hung Shui Kiu Smart and Green Mass Transit System, which the government is aiming to invite tender for next year.
Towards the end of the show, we discussed the government's move to replace all of Hong Kong’s electronic audible traffic signal units to provide greater convenience for people who are visually impaired.

    9:05am-9:30am: Circular fashion initiatives
9:05am-9:16am: Katherine Chan, Director of Business Development, The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel
