Expert advisers to the government have changed their guidance on Hong Kong teenagers getting vaccinated against Covid-19, saying they need only one BioNTech jab instead of two.

The change comes after more than 30 young people experienced inflammation of the heart as a suspected side-effect of the injection since those aged between 12 and 17 began receiving the shots in June.

After 9:15am, we’re looking ahead to the Election Committee Subsector elections which will take place this Sunday.

    The future of food

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Anna Fenton

On Thursday’s Backchat, the future of food.

Environmental, ethical and health concerns are leading many people to explore alternative food
sources – from Omnipork – ‘an all-purpose plant-based pork analogue’ – to insects.

Why has a whole hotel chain gone vegetarian for a year, and why are fast food chains serving vegan luncheon meat? What about burgers grown in a lab? Or should we be sticking to simple vegetables?

Would you go to a vegan butcher? Should products that don’t contain meat be labelled ‘sausages’ or ‘burgers’? Is this how the world will eat a hundred years from now, or is it a food fad that will fade away?

9:00-9:30 David Yeung, CEO and founder of Green Monday Group
