17th May was the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.

According to a recent CUHK survey 76% of local transgender respondents say they have faced rejection in different dimensions of social life, with 62% experiencing
victimisation.  What is the situation like for the LGBTQ communities in Hong Kong? Are feminists like JK Rowling who are concerned about preserving safe spaces for women, and who are sceptical about too easy gender recognition plans, transphobic?

From 9:15am-9:30am, we'll be discussing bus fares. Four bus operators were allowed to raise fares this year. But one company says it is still making massive losses and is likely to seek another fare increase. What do you think about it?

    Electoral Changes in HK

    主持人:Hugh Chiverton and Mike Rowse

On Monday's Backchat, electoral changes in Hong Kong.
National People's Congress Standing Committee deputy Tam Yiu-chong said on Friday yhat the Beijing-led electoral reform for the SAR is completely in line with the Basic Law and the Chinese constitution.
He said the proposed changes were made in accordance with the "actual situation" of Hong Kong.
The proposed changes include allowing the election committee that chooses Hong Kong's chief executive to elect “a relatively large share” of lawmakers and nominate all Legco hopefuls. Other reports said the number of Legco seats will increase from 70 to 90 and the number of election committee members will be raised from 1,200 to 1,500.
What do you think of the changes? What effect will they have on us?
