On Friday’s backchat we’ll look at job scams, as the government said eight Hongkongers are currently being held captive in Myanmar after being lured overseas with fake job offers.
The Security Bureau said it had received 20 trafficking reports involving Hong Kong residents since the beginning of the year, with 12 of the suspected victims now safe. Ten of them have since returned to the SAR.
A cross-department task force is now set up to rescue kidnapped residents across Southeast Asia.
What do you think? How serious is the cross-border scam situation?
After 9:15, we’ll look into the government’s plan to upgrade and widen Lion Rock Tunnel, in a bid to reduce traffic jams in peak hours.

The Qianhai economic zone in Shenzhen will see its size increase by about eight times, as part of a plan to foster closer business and technology ties with Hong Kong, and to help the development of the Greater Bay Area.

The project includes plans to attract universities from Hong Kong, Macau and overseas to set up branches there, and finance companies will be allowed to provide cross-border services. Business groups have welcomed the potential opportunities and benefits, but say the governments on the two sides need to work out a number of arrangements.

After 9:15am, we’re discussing the planned opening of Hong Kong International
Airport’s third runway, which is set for the second half of next year.
