On Tuesday's Backchat, we're discussing the decline in the numbers of kindergarten students.
A questionnaire conducted by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers suggests that nearly 84 percent of surveyed pre-schools are bracing for a reduction in K1 students in the coming year, something that it mainly attributes to declining birth rates.
Meanwhile, 90 percent said they were facing financial difficulties, with more than three quarters admitting that they'd had to lay off staff. Some have also not ruled out the prospect of filing for bankruptcy.
What's happening to our kindergartens? Does Hong Kong's early childhood education model need a revamp?
After 9:45, we learn more about the launch of China's new C919 airliner.

On today’s programme, we’re talking about a possible upgrade to the road network on Lantau Island.
The Secretary for Development, Bernadette Linn, has said the aim would be to promote sustainable development and secure better connections between the north and south sides of the island by improving transport infrastructure. The plan could involve bringing the old Tung Chung Road back into use and expanding sections of several other roads in stages, including South Lantau Road, Keung Shan Road and Tai O Road.
After 9:45, we’re going to be looking at a study led by scientists from the Baptist University on Covid-19 infection, which it's hoped could lead to more effective treatments for those with weak immune systems and who are unable to take the vaccine.
