Democrat vs Republican debate on Radio 3

On Friday's Global Focus, we talked about US politics, ahead of the Presidential elections in November.
Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and her Republican rival Donald Trump took to the stage for their first ever TV debate on Tuesday, two months after President Joe Biden dropped out of the White House race to endorse Vice-President Harris.
Despite a collected beginning, the debate quickly turned into a war of words as the two rivals laid out their deep divisions in matters ranging from gun control, abortion rights, healthcare, immigration and tax. Both candidates claimed the mantle of change, hoping to gain the hearts and minds of American voters who will be called to the ballot boxes in less than two months.
We were joined by James Lockett, Chair of Democrats Abroad (Hong Kong) and Alan Seigrist, Head of Republicans Overseas (Hong Kong) who debated live from our studio here in Hong Kong.

Suspected infant abuse case / Tseung Kwan O - Sai Wan O pet friendly ferry

    主持人:Jenny Lam and Car Ha

On Tuesday’s Backchat we’re talking about the latest suspected baby abuse case.

A nine-month-old infant was found to have blood clots in her brain and is currently in intensive care at Tuen Mun Hospital.
The babysitter who’s been taking care of the infant has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse.
The 33-year-old woman was trained by an NGO as part of a childcare project subsidised by the Social Welfare Department, and had only started work this month.
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Chris Sun, said the government is very concerned about the case and will review the guidelines and training requirements of childminders to see if there are any areas that need to be strengthened or improved.
So what kind of training is usually given to childminders? Is it enough?
After 9:45am, we look at the new pet-friendly ferry service launched between Tseung Kwan O and Sai Wan O.
