China's retirement age increase / Rise in Group B Streptococcus virus cases

In our main topic today, we're talking about China’s decision to raise its retirement age for the first time in more than 70 years. Starting next year, the retirement age will be gradually raised to 63 for men, 55 for women in blue-collar jobs and 58 for women in managerial positions.

The changes are necessary to stop China’s pension fund from running out of money and in line with global trends. But what impact will they have on a labour market where many already struggle to find jobs? We find out.

After 9:45, we speak to a doctor about the growing number of cases involving a potentially deadly bacteria linked to freshwater fish.

Renaming of the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence / Issues on Airbus A350 Rolls Royce engines

    主持人:Jim Gould and Rainbow Leung

On Wednesday's Backchat, we're learning more about new exhibitions at one of the city’s museums.

The Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence was officially renamed on Tuesday, to include the War of Resistance in its title, and coinciding with the Victory Day of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
Running until July next year, a newly unveiled exhibition entitled "Brothers in Arms", tells visitors more about the Chinese men and women who fought a guerilla campaign against the foreign invaders, both in Hong Kong and across the border in Shenzhen.
The revamp is part of the Chief Executive's pledge to cultivate a stronger sense of national pride and patriotism among citizens, with other similar plans taking shape.
After 9:45, we get a pilot's reaction to Cathay Pacific's decision to ground all of its Airbus A350 aircrafts until Saturday, as at least 15 jets were found to have problems with their Rolls Royce engines.
