    Dementia / Ionospheric scintillation phenomenon

On Thursday's Backchat, we're talking about dementia.

The Equal Opportunities Commission has released new guidelines encouraging employers to support workers with dementia and those caring for relatives with the handicap.
This comes as the number of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease or similar conditions could reach 330,000 by 2039 as the city's population keeps ageing.
Whilst most people diagnosed with dementia are retired, a significant chunk are still active in the workforce, prompting rights' groups to call for new measures.
So how serious is dementia among the working elderly? Which sectors need to adapt the most? And are carers given adequate support?
After 9:45, we speak to a scientist about why the recent drone show had to be cancelled.

Financially struggling gym operators: time for the sector to re-invent itself? / Flying car trial plans

    主持人:Jim Gould and Philip Wong

On Wednesday’s Backchat, we're talking about the financial viability of fitness chains.

From the sudden closure of Physical Fitness to one of its competitors facing civil action over alleged unpaid rents, the city's gyms are experiencing rough times, amidst increasing operating costs and changing consumer habits.
Some lawmakers are hoping to enact new laws to safeguard consumer rights, and unionists want personal trainers to be given a better safety net.
The Consumer Council has so far received almost 5,000 complaints involving close to HK$35,000 per case, whilst 670 personal trainers sought help from the Labour Department over the closure of Physical branches.
Would new laws help better protect gym consumers? And do fitness centres need to re-invent themselves?
After 9:45, we talk about flying vehicles, as transport minister Lam Sai-hung announced that the city would begin testing out flying cars.
