Dwyfor Evans, Head of APAC Macro Strategy at State Street Global Markets, tells James Ross that the probability of a Fed hike before the end of the year is pretty much a coin toss at the moment, but he thinks they won’t move in November.
Moving onto mainland China, Andrew Freris, CEO at Ecognosis Advisory, says with very low inflation rates, you cannot have big changes in interest rates, so he’s not expecting movement there either.

She goes on to say that new RBA governor Michele Bullock is seen as a safe pair of hands, and the biggest challenge for next year will asserting herself around changes to the structure of the central bank's board.

RTHK’s International Economic Correspondent Barry Wood, thinks that inflation has subsided as rates peaked in March, and he expects a continued drop throughout next year.
