Happy Wednesday and welcome to The Brew. Our first port of call today is... yesterday night, in New York. We'll catch up with correspondent and all round superstar Tracy Quan at 12:10. at 12:40, a quick trip to Singapore, from where RTL France's Philippe Dova wants to tell you all about the French singing sensation Daniel Balavoine. Then, at 1:25 it's 'classical' music day, and we'll park in Bangkok with Paul Archibald. Today, Paul wants to play some music by a few incredible (lesser known) composers from Soviet era Russia; all of whom had one thing in common - they fell foul of Stalin.
Every weekday afternoon from 12:05 until 2... Only on Radio 3

James Ross in with the final Holiday Brew of the week. First off we pay tribute to Marianne Faithfull (photo), who's passed away at the age of 78. Then we're off to LA to hear about tonight's Fire Aid concerts in support of those affected by the California Wildfires earlier this months. Among those artists playing the gigs are Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell, Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, No Doubt and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. We'll speak to the Host of L.A. Spinz, Peter Reynolds, live from LA at 10.30. After 11 we'll revisit our interview with the Buzzcocks' Steve Diggle (photo) around their visit to HK last November, and then after 12 James Marsh will be here with the latest in movies... Paddington In Peru, Companion, Hit N Fun, and Creation Of The Gods II. Plus the best in music until 2pm.
