    The Brew

    簡介

    GIST

    主持人:Phil Whelan

Every weekday from noon, The Brew is a chat and music show. Hosted by Phil Whelan, guests include regular contributors and drop-ins, who span topics from current affairs to cookery, sport, the arts, technology, and music... lots of music. For 19 years, Phil has presented 'Morning Brew', but now that we've moved to the lunchtime spot, all we need to change is the name. We have the same MB crew coming to you on the same days, and we're open for business... as usual.

Mark Rawson - Hong Kong Music / Bill Lascher - A book "A Danger Shared: A Journalist’s Glimpses of a Continent at War"

    主持人:Phil Whelan

Today on The Brew we get into it with more fabulous 'Brewed in HK' tracks. As always on a Thursday, you get 25 minutes of the best of Hong Kong's super talented artists and bands. At 1:25 we welcome author, journalist, and historian Bill Lascher, to talk about his latest work, 'A Danger Shared: A Journalist’s Glimpses of a Continent at War'. This captivating book provides a vivid portrayal of Asia during World War II, seen through the eyes of trailblazing foreign correspondent Melville Jacoby. Lascher’s deep connection to Jacoby’s legacy comes from family ties—Jacoby was his grandmother’s cousin. Bill joins us live from the USA to tell you about his incredible discoveries, especially of Mel's actual photos, which are being exhibited here in town.
Every weekday afternoon from 12 until 2... Only on Radio 3
