Happy Tuesday and welcome to The Brew. Today is 'World Hearing Day'. Medical advances are a favourite area of study for our biz futurist Morris Miselowski, so this is exaclty where we'll go... but with a focus on advances in Australia. We'll stay in-country at 12:40 as correspondent Jarrod Watt returns with his Aussie news and music of the week, plus of course some great music from Mick Daley, Jazzparty, and Birdsnake. Bring it!

Welcome to Wednesday. It's The Brew, and we'll start off on Tuesday night in New York with our friend Tracy Quan. Among other things, today we'll find out about the city's First Lady. Last weekend, Siem Reap hosted the Francophonie Village for three days, and it's guest of honour was the one and only (Canadian singer) Fabienne Thibeault. RTL France's Philippe Dova was likely the brains behind this, and he'll tell you all about it at 12:40. At 1:25 it's 'classical' music day with Paul Archibald, who joins us live from Bangkok. There's a whole lot more to English music of the early/mid 20th century than Elgar and 'rolling hills and meadows', and that's exactly what we'll discover and hear today.
