Until the outbreak of the First World War, Sibelius was in demand throughout Europe as a conductor and he remains one of the few 20^th century composers to have become a legend within his own lifetime. This year (2015), the 150th anniversary of Jean Sibelius’ birth, his musical legacy is being celebrated all over the world. Here on RTHK Radio 4, a special programme about the composer will be aired at 8pm every Monday night in December.
