Anthony Wah is a young local saxophonist. From classical to contemporary music, from jazz to pop, he excels in delivering heart-touching music with a versatile tone.
In this episode, he will share his experiences from studying in Japan and the influence of various mentors on his music journey.
Anthony graduated from the Quantitative Finance program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He later emerged as one of the musical rising stars in "Young Music Makers 2017" on RTHK Radio 4.

EP21: Belle Shiu, Wu Chun-hei
Local pipa virtuoso Belle Shiu was influenced by historical dramas during her younger years, leading her to learn the pipa. In this episode, she shares her mother's support and encouragement on her musical journey. She will also perform a playful piece with her husband Wu Chun-hei, a suona artist, combining the sounds of pipa and bass suona.
Belle Shiu, a Master's graduate from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, has won a Bronze Award in the International Group at the Hong Kong International Youth Pipa competition in 2013 and a Gold Award in the Ensemble Category at the 2nd Chinese Instrumental Music Competition of Guangdong in 2015.

EP20: Vanessa Wong
In an interview with Vanessa Wong, a pianist who resolved to become a performer from a young age, she shared her unique musical journey towards realizing her dreams. Despite her firm and resilient character, evidenced by continuing to perform even when her finger bled, she also indulges in pop culture and drama series, revealing her youthful spirit.
Vanessa performed several piano pieces, narrating her dreams through music.
Vanessa Wong, a pianist from Hong Kong, has won numerous international music competitions and has been frequently invited to perform solos. She has collaborated with orchestras such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

EP19: Bluesman / Tomii Chan
Blues music, originating from African Americans in the 19th century, utilized instruments and vocals to express the oppression and melancholy of life, evolving into a distinct musical style. In fact, blues has also influenced the Hong Kong pop music scene, with elements of the genre appearing in the works of artists like Lowell Lo, Danny Summer, and George Lam.
In this episode, Bluesman and Tomii Chan will not only discuss the development of blues in Hong Kong but also bring us some classic blues and Bluesman's Cantonese blues works. They will also reinterpret Leslie Cheung's "Stand Up" with a blues twist.
Bluesman, a blues musician, has participated in numerous bands, won band competitions, and released several blues tracks.
Tomii Chan, a singer-songwriter and music producer, has organized the " Gloomy Island Blues Festival" multiple times to promote blues music.

EP17: Yuki Ip, Cherry Tsang
Soprano Yuki Ip initially had no clue about the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. However, after enrolling, she grew fond of vocal music, eventually transforming her passion into a career that took her to international stages. Pianist Cherry Tsang, whose father was a piano instructor, was guided and inspired by many eminent teachers to become a remarkable pianist.
In this episode, these two mothers will not only discuss their children but also perform some renowned songs for us, including the ever popular "Over The Rainbow" and other movie soundtracks.
Yuki Ip is a local soprano, holding a Bachelor's degree from the School of Music of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a Master's degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in the US. She frequently performs in large-scale sacred music works, oratorios, and cantatas, and has played leading roles in numerous operas.
Cherry Tsang is a pianist who, after graduating from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, attained her Master's and Doctorate in Piano Performance from the Eastman School of Music in the US. She has performed globally and currently teaches piano chamber music and ensemble performance at both the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

EP16: Chan Kai-him
Hong Kong huqin performer, Chan Kai-him, conveys his music with subtlety and emotion, and his personal life is filled with love. He has adopted four stray cats, which has brought about significant changes in his lifestyle.
In this episode, Chan Kai-him will share amusing stories and lessons drawn from his experiences with these beloved felines.
Chan Kai-him obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. In 2015, he was recognized as a "Young Music Maker" by RYHK. Currently, he is the co-concertmaster of the Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble and a founding member of the Hong Kong Erhu ensemble Goin’ Music.

EP14: Anders Hui, Zhao Yingna
Among the members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, there is a golden couple in the violin world. They grew up in different cities and learned in diverse cultures, but ultimately chose Hong Kong as their home. Anders Hui and Zhao Yingna, both core members of the Philharmonic, shared their insights into balancing their roles as colleagues and spouses. The key is listening to and respecting one another. As for raising their children, they both believe that as long as their children are happy, it's enough.
Anders Hui grew up in Canada and won his first significant award at the age of 17 in the Canadian Music Competition. He later attended Indiana University in the United States, where he obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music. Since 2010, he has been a member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and currently holds the position of Second Associate Concertmaster.
Zhao Yingna was born in Beijing and is currently the Principal Second Violinist for the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. She studied at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music. During her time in Germany, she also served as the Assistant Principal Second Violin for the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

EP13: Yany Tse
The harp has an elegant form and a spiritual tone, leading many to assume that female harpists must be delicate, quiet, and graceful, almost like ethereal goddesses. In this episode, harpist Yany Tse breaks this stereotype with her cheerful personality. Just like other young people, she participates in online discussions, enjoys eating tofu and roast pork rice at food stalls, and appreciates the simple side of life. She will perform several songs on the harp, including film scores from Harry Potter and Frozen.
Yany Tse is a local harpist who holds a Bachelor's degree (majoring in harp) and a Performance Diploma (majoring in guzheng, with a minor in harp) from the School of Music of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Over the years, she has won numerous awards worldwide. In 2017, she won the third place in the Concours International de Harpes, a world harp competition in France, becoming the first Chinese to achieve this honor.

EP12: Kennedy City Chamber Orchestra
The Kennedy City Chamber Orchestra is composed of four young musicians: Samuel Kwok, Eric Cheung, Jayne Wong, and Woody Leung.
Each having a wealth of performance experience and a passion for music. They choose to perform pop songs in a quartet format, hoping to bring a fresh feeling to the audience.
Samuel Kwok, a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in violin performance, has participated in orchestral performances in different countries such as South Korea and Germany; Eric Cheung, also a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, has participated in performances of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Hong Kong Orchestra; Jayne Wong, a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, is currently active in chamber music and orchestral performances; Woody Leung, who holds the ATCL violin performance diploma and the LTCL piano performance diploma from the Trinity College London, has served as a music instructor and orchestra conductor in over 20 primary and secondary schools.
