The Current
On today's The Current, we look at Hong Kong's Five-Year Plan and the Policy Address, focussing on housing and the Northern Metropolis. A panel joins the show to discuss plans to build over 70,000 housing units in the Northern Metropolis over the next five years, raise residential unit size requirements, and increase public housing supply to 196,000 flats so the waiting time can be shortened to under four years by 2030. We also discuss plans to speed up development of three university towns in the Northern Metropolis, in San Tin, Hung Shui Kiu and Ta Kwu Ling, each with a distinct focus spanning education, technology, industry, talent and urban development.
